Terence Crawford Defeats Canelo Alvarez to Become Three-Division Undisputed Champion

Terence Crawford achieved a unanimous decision victory over Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, becoming the first male boxer to hold undisputed titles in three different weight classes. The fight, held on Mexican Independence weekend, drew a crowd of 70,000 and was broadcast globally on Netflix.

Crawford's win adds to his impressive record, which includes titles in the lightweight, light-welterweight, and welterweight divisions. This latest victory at super-middleweight further cements his legacy in the sport.

Prior to the bout, Alvarez had questioned Crawford's resume, suggesting he had "fought nobody." In response, Crawford took to social media post-fight, stating, "For all the nobodies," highlighting his achievement.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Crawford expressed confidence in his abilities: "When I set my sights on doing something and I know what I'm capable of, it's not like a surprise to me. It's a surprise to you all because you all didn't believe me. I knew I could do it. I just needed an opportunity."

Alvarez, who has been a dominant figure in boxing for over a decade, acknowledged Crawford's performance, saying, "Everything. He has everything." Despite the loss, Alvarez indicated his intention to continue his career.

The event was notable not only for the in-ring action but also for its promotion. The fight was a collaboration between Saudi Arabian promotion Riyadh Season and UFC head Dana White's TKO Boxing, marking a significant moment in boxing's evolving landscape.

With this victory, Crawford's professional record stands at 42 wins, 31 by knockout, and no losses, solidifying his position at the pinnacle of the sport.
