Actress Selma Blair Arrested After Alleged Incident on Delta Flight
Selma Blair was taken into custody in New York after police responded to an alleged assault on flight attendants during a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York.
Selma Blair was arrested Sunday after law enforcement responded to an alleged assault on two flight attendants during a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York, Variety reported. According to a TMZ source, the 54-year-old actress punched one attendant, bit another, and attempted to open the aircraft door while the plane was in the air. Police met the aircraft at John F. Kennedy Airport and took Blair into custody after the flight landed at approximately 11 p.m. She was then transported to a hospital for evaluation and is reported to be in stable condition.
"Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition," a spokesperson for Blair said to Variety.
Two flight attendants received medical care for injuries sustained during the incident. The Port Authority confirmed Blair's identity, and a source indicated that the FBI is investigating the matter.
"Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first," a Delta Airlines spokesperson told Variety.
The flight landed ahead of schedule, and there were no reported operational delays. Blair previously faced a similar incident in 2016, when she was removed from a flight after a medical episode that she later attributed to alcohol and medication.
