Patriots place WR Mack Hollins on injured reserve as roster reshuffle continues

सारांश

New England moved Mack Hollins to injured reserve after a calf injury and added several players from the practice squad and free agency to fill the 53-man roster.

The New England Patriots placed wide receiver Mack Hollins on injured reserve on Saturday following a calf strain he suffered in the second half of Sunday’s victory over the Buffalo Bills. The move sidelines Hollins for at least four games and rules him out of the upcoming matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The team’s remaining wide receivers on the active roster are Romeo Doubs, Efton Chism, Pop Douglas and Kyle Williams. Veteran receiver A.J. Brown, who is recovering from an ankle injury, could be re-activated as early as Week 6, which would be the fourth game he has missed.

In addition to Hollins, fullback Reggie Gilliam was also placed on injured reserve due to ankle and knee issues. To fill the roster spots, the Patriots promoted special-teams player Brenden Schooler from the non-football injury list, signed cornerback Kindle Vildor from the practice squad, and elevated linebacker K.J. Britt and safety Elliott Davison from the practice squad.
