George Clooney Says Family Not Ready to Discuss Presley Gerber's Death
Actor George Clooney said his family is not prepared to comment on the death of Presley Gerger, 27, a close family friend, after the teenager died at a rehabilitation center in California.
Actor George Clooney addressed the death of Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, during an interview at the Albies awards ceremony on Oct. 9. The teenager died at a sober-living facility in Simi Valley, California, on Sept. 20. Clooney told Entertainment Tonight that his family is not yet in a position to discuss the tragedy.
Clooney and the Gerber family have a long-standing friendship; Clooney and Rande Gerber co-founded the Casamigos tequila brand in 2013 and later launched the non-alcoholic beer brand Crazy Mountain in March.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Gerber was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. after responders arrived for a reported overdose and cardiac arrest. Police described the death as a "suspected overdose" and noted no signs of foul play. The cause of death remains pending further testing.
