Neighbors dispute fence and landscaping plans at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Ohio home

Resumen

Residents of Br Bratenahl, Ohio, raised concerns at a village planning meeting over the fence and tree-planting proposals for the couple's recently purchased lakefront property.

Taylor Swift, 36, and Travis Kelce, 37, who married in July, are facing opposition from neighbors in Bratenahl, Ohio, regarding proposed fencing and landscaping at their $5 million lakefront estate. At a village planning meeting on Oct. 6, residents said the plans could disrupt the community’s quiet and raise maintenance issues.

Katherine Bolton, a longtime neighbor, warned that planting evergreen trees near a shared sewage line could cause backups and estimated a $75,000 cost to protect the line.

"What am I going to do when I have 50 evergreen trees on my sewer line, and they're gone?" Bolton said.

Chuck Bauernschmidt, who lives two houses away, objected to the removal of existing shrubbery and expressed safety concerns about the fence design.

Jacob Kutz of Tiny Construction, representing the couple, said the fence is intended to provide privacy and security after a large property sale and noted the design was reduced from an 8-foot to a 6-foot fence that does not extend to Lake Erie. He added that the sewage line has been cleaned and a gate will be installed for the neighbor who felt excluded.

The Bratenahl Architectural Review Board approved a landscaping plan for the front of the estate and indicated that additional proposals will be considered at future meetings.
