Actor Keegan Allen attacked and robbed in West Hollywood

Résumé

Keegan Allen was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint on Santa Monica Boulevard, sustaining a forehead laceration, authorities said.

Los Angeles County deputies responded to a robbery call around 9:05 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, in the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. The victim, actor Keegan Allen, reported that two men dressed in black approached him, with one pointing a silver handgun and the other a knife, and demanded his watch and bracelet. The handgun was then used to strike Allen in the face, causing a laceration to his forehead, before the suspects fled in a vehicle with the stolen items.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel evaluated Allen at the scene, and he was not transported to a hospital. Allen later posted a video on Instagram showing blood on his face and clothing, and he described the incident as a near-fatal robbery. He also shared surveillance footage of the encounter and criticized the effectiveness of city surveillance cameras in preventing such crimes.

Mayor Karen Bass’s office called the incident "egregious" and said the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation, with the LAPD ready to assist. The sheriff’s office confirmed the investigation is ongoing.

Allen is known for his role as Toby Cavanaugh on "Pretty Little Liars" and has appeared in recent television series.
