Apple plans October release for iOS 27.2 with new features
Apple confirmed that iOS 27.2 will arrive in late October, bringing language support for Siri and several updates across its apps.
Apple is beta testing iOS 27.2 and expects to roll it out in October, likely during the week of October 26. The update follows iOS 27.1, which is limited to the iPhone Duo and will not be offered to other iPhone models.
"Siri AI will add support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish next month," Apple said when iOS 27 launched.
The upcoming iOS 27.2 release is set to include user profiles in the Apple TV app, Dual Capture for Group FaceTime, a new Suggestions feature in Messages, an overhaul of the Up Next section in Apple Podcasts, and design updates for Apple Books. The timing aligns with Apple’s typical schedule of delivering the first feature update after a major OS launch in late October.
Analysts note that the release could occur earlier if new hardware announced for the week ships with the software pre-installed, though related Home products are not expected to be available immediately.
