The NFL announced a two-game suspension for line judge Jeff Seeman after he was recorded swearing at Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, and also suspended referee Adrian Hill for unprofessional conduct in a separate game.

The league said line judge Jeff Seeman will miss the next two games after video showed him cursing at Cardinals tight end Trey McBride during the Giants’ 36-24 win on Sunday. The incident occurred with under five minutes left in the fourth quarter after officials did not call a pass-interference penalty on a New York defender who made contact with McBride.

"This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable," NFL Players Association executive director JC Tretter wrote on social media, adding that players are often held accountable when roles are reversed and the league should apply the same standards to officials.

In a separate case, referee Adrian Hill was suspended for unprofessional conduct after he yelled at Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson during the Miami-Minnesota game. Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell described the episode as a “high-energy moment” and said he had no major concerns about Hill’s overall performance.

The suspensions were announced by Ramon George, the NFL’s vice president of officiating. The league noted that officials have faced disciplinary action before, citing past penalties against umpire Roy Ellison for derogatory remarks toward players.
