Actor Robert Kelker-Kelly, known for playing Bo Brady, dies at 62

Résumé

Robert Kelker-Kelly, who portrayed Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives," died at age 62 in St. Peters, Missouri, after a medical emergency.

Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for his role as Bo Brady on the daytime drama "Days of Our Lives," died on Saturday in St. Peters, Missouri, at the age of 62. Police responded to a call about an unconscious man who was not breathing; officials said he had complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive, and the incident appeared consistent with a medical event.

Kelker-Kelly began his television career in 1987 as Sam Fowler on "Another World." He took over the role of Bo Brady in 1992, playing opposite Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed until the original actor returned to the part in 1995. During that period, he and Rinna received a Soap Opera Digest award for Hottest Soap Couple.

After leaving the show, Kelker-Kelly married Miriam Parrish in 1997 and moved away from Los Angeles, later earning a certification in aircraft mechanics. He taught acting at a charter school in Massachusetts from 2002 to 2003 before becoming a professional pilot, a career he pursued alongside occasional teaching until his death. His other screen credits include a stint as Stavros Cassadine on "General Hospital" and roles in films and TV movies such as "Dream for an Insomniac" and "Winter Heat."
