Robert Kelker-Kelly died on Oct. 3 at his Missouri home after reporting chest pain; the cause of death has not been released.
Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for his role as Bo Brady on the soap opera "Days of Our Life," died on Oct. 3 at his home in St. Peters, Missouri, at age 62. Police said he complained of chest pain and was found unconscious and not breathing when officers arrived around 8:16 p.m. local time. Despite life-saving efforts, he could not be revived and a cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Kelker-Kelly was born on April 18, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He began acting in high school, later moving to Florida for theater work before relocating to California, where he secured an agent after a brief relationship ended. He debuted on television in 1987 as Sam Fowler on "Another World," a role he landed while experiencing homelessness.
In 1992, he took over the role of Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives," a part he played until 1995. He described the schedule as demanding, working up to 90 hours a week and memorizing extensive dialogue. After leaving the series, he moved to New York City and later appeared as Stavros Cassadine on "General Hospital" and made several guest appearances on the same show.
Earlier this year, former co-star Lisa Rinna alleged in her memoir that Kelker-Kelly was verbally abusive toward her during their time on "Days of Our Lives." Kelker-Kelly did not comment publicly on the accusations.
