Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to undergo ankle MRI on Monday

Baltimore will have Jackson scanned after he left the game with an ankle injury, but the team expects him to be ready for next week’s matchup.

Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter said the team considered putting quarterback Lamar Jackson back in during Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans, but ultimately kept the two-time MVP out after he suffered an ankle injury late in the first half. Jackson left the game on the sideline in a protective boot and did not return for the second half.

The injury occurred when Jackson was sacked on the final play of the first half and his ankle became trapped under defender Jermaine Johnson. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley took over in the third quarter while the Ravens maintained a 24-7 lead.

Jackson finished the two quarters he played with 114 passing yards, two touchdown passes and a 52-yard strike to wide receiver Zay Flowers that set up a short touchdown run by Mark Andrews. He also threw a short touchdown to rookie tight end Matt Hibner in the fourth quarter.

Team officials indicated that Jackson spoke to the media before practice and appeared confident about his health. The Ravens are expected to limit his practice activity as a precaution, but the injury does not appear to jeopardize his participation in the upcoming Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons. An MRI is scheduled for Monday, and the first injury report of the week will provide further details.

Tyler Huntley remains the backup quarterback on the roster.
