Zach Bryan Sets Gillette Stadium Attendance Record Amid Controversial Shirt

Résumé

Country singer Zach Bryan performed to 73,538 attendees at Gillette Stadium, breaking the venue's record while wearing a “Free Palestine” T-shirt for the second consecutive night.

Zach Bryan's concert on Oct. 3 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, attracted 73,538 fans, surpassing the venue's typical capacity of 64,628 and establishing a new attendance record for the stadium. The figure was confirmed by the stadium’s official Instagram post, which highlighted the crowd size and shared images from the show.

The 30-year-old artist wore a black T-shirt bearing the words “Free Palestine” for the second night in a row, a choice that drew media attention after his opening performance on Oct. 2. Members of his band were also seen in matching shirts, though Bryan did not comment on the apparel during the concerts.

The appearance follows recent controversy involving other performers and pro-Palestinian statements. Rapper Macklemore was removed from the remaining U.S. dates of Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour after making similar remarks, a decision influenced by petitions and venue concerns. Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft previously said he felt compelled to speak out when he perceived antisemitic content, while also acknowledging the reality of Palestinian suffering.

Bryan has previously incorporated political themes into his music, including a 2025 teaser for a song referencing ICE raids that attracted criticism from federal officials. He defended the track as addressing multiple perspectives and urged listeners to avoid social media division. The song later appeared on his album "With Heaven on Top," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
