Apple's Next MacBook Pro Expected to Feature OLED Touchscreen and Reduced Weight

Resumen

Apple is planning a new MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen that may weigh noticeably less than current models, with a launch anticipated next month.

Apple is preparing a new MacBook Pro that will incorporate an OLED touchscreen and a lighter chassis. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said the laptop could be "significantly lighter" after Apple reengineered its internal components, miniaturizing parts and rearranging the layout. The device is expected to use the existing high-end M5 processor rather than the forthcoming M7 chips slated for early 2027. Gurman also noted that the touchscreen MacBook Pro is slated for release next month, coinciding with the debut of an OLED iPad mini. Current MacBook Pro models range from about 3.4 pounds for the 14-inch version to up to 4.7 pounds for the 16-inch model.
