Patriots Snap Losing Streak with Late Victory Over Bills

Summary

New England defeated Buffalo 29-26 on Sunday, improving to 2-2 on the season after a game-winning drive in the final minutes.

New England rallied in the closing seconds of Sunday’s game at Highmark Stadium to beat the previously unbeaten Buffalo Bills 29-26, bringing the Patriots to a .500 record. Quarterback Drake Maye completed 22 of 37 passes for 269 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and a fumble, and added 54 rushing yards. After a fourth-down conversion early in the game, Maye connected with tight end Eli Raridon for a touchdown and later threw a 23-yard TD pass to wide receiver Romeo Doubs, who also caught a second touchdown later in the half.

The Patriots’ offense, which had not scored on its opening drive all season, found rhythm in the second half. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson contributed 47 rushing yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, while backup TreVeyon Henderson added 42 yards on 14 attempts. The team’s defense forced a key turnover when safety Marcus Jones intercepted Bills quarterback Josh Allen with just over a minute left, sealing the win after a successful two-point conversion.

Buffalo’s Allen threw for 253 yards, one touchdown and one turnover, and also ran for a score. The Bills’ defense limited New England to a single sack, but the Patriots’ special teams and late-game execution proved decisive. The victory moves the Patriots to 2-2 in the AFC East, while the Bills fall to 3-1.
