Wynonna Judd disputes claim she supports President Trump
Country singer Wynonna Judd said she was surprised by Rosie O'Donnell's allegation that she backs Donald Trump, noting she has never discussed politics with the comedian.
Country singer Wynonna Judd said she was "in shock" after Rosie O'Donnell publicly labeled her a supporter of President Donald Trump. The comment was made on the August 11 episode of "The Tangle with Kyle Ridley" podcast, where O'Donnell said Judd was the only exception to her rule of keeping Trump supporters out of her circle.
In an interview with People published on Oct. 2, Judd said she has never talked politics with O'Donnell and describes herself as an independent. She called the allegation "a complete assumption" and said she is not angry, only confused, adding that she prefers to avoid drama and focus on mutual respect.
O'Donnell later issued a statement saying her assumption stemmed from Judd's performance at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in November 2023, and she apologized if she was wrong. The two have a long-standing friendship dating back to Judd's appearances on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," but O'Donnell said they have generally avoided political discussion.
USA TODAY contacted O'Donnell's representatives for comment; no response was received.
