The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a Gulfstream G-100 air ambulance that lost contact while en route from Bermuda to Boston, with six people aboard.

The U.S. Coast Guard began a search operation on Saturday morning after the Federal Aviation Administration lost contact with a Gulfstream G-100 medical plane traveling from Bermuda to Boston. The aircraft, registered in Canada as C-GJRP and owned by Latitude Air Ambulance of Hamilton, Ontario, departed L.F. Wade International Airport and was due to land at Logan International Airport. Six occupants were on board.

A search and rescue alert was issued at approximately 1:20 a.m. local time, and Coast Guard air and surface units were deployed to the area off the coast of Nantucket. The FAA is coordinating the effort with the Coast Guard and the national Rescue Coordination Center.

Massport confirmed that the plane did not arrive at Logan as scheduled. > "Our thoughts are with those on board and their loved ones as the search continues," a Massport spokesperson said.

Latitude Air Ambulance’s director of flight operations, Clarence Togeretz, said the flight was conducting a medical evacuation and noted that the company has an emergency response plan for all missions. He added that while the lack of a timely report is concerning, it does not necessarily indicate a catastrophic outcome.
