AT&T and Apple Deploy Updates to Address iPhone 18 Pro Max Connectivity Problems

Resumen

Apple released a carrier settings update and required iOS 27.0.1 installation for iPhone 18 Pro Max users, while AT&T said it is working with Apple to resolve ongoing network issues.

Apple and AT&T have begun rolling out software updates aimed at fixing cellular connectivity problems reported by iPhone 18 Pro Max owners on the AT&T network. The company issued a carrier settings update (version 72.1, up from 72.0.2) that is expected to include optimizations for the affected model. Users can install the update via the Settings app under General → About.

In addition, Apple now requires iPhone 18 Pro Max devices to run iOS 27.0.1 before they can be set up. Although many users say the iOS version has not eliminated the issue, a leaked AT&T email indicated the update is intended to mitigate future impacts.

"We are working with Apple," AT&T said in a statement to MacRumors.

Apple did not provide a comment. It remains uncertain whether further updates, such as a possible iOS 27.0.2 or additional carrier settings revisions, will be needed to fully resolve the problem.
