Wynonna Judd says she is independent after Rosie O'Donnell labels her a Trump supporter

Résumé

Country singer Wynonna Judd refuted claims by comedian Rosie O'Donnell that she supports President Donald Trump, stating she is an independent and has not discussed politics with O'Donnell.

Country music artist Wynonna Judd said she is an independent voter and denied being a supporter of President Donald Trump after Rosie O'Donnell publicly described her as such. Judd told People magazine she was surprised by the allegation and said she has never spoken to O'Donnell about politics.

"I’m in shock, just so you know," Judd said, adding that O'Donnell "doesn’t know anything about my stuff" and that the claim was a "complete assumption."

Judd said she was not angry but confused, and she does not wish to turn the misunderstanding into a public dispute. "I just don’t want drama," she said, urging people to focus on larger issues.

O'Donnell, who has been a vocal critic of Trump, previously mentioned their friendship on a podcast, stating she believed Judd was a Trump supporter but that they kept politics separate. Fox News Digital has not received a comment from O'Donnell.

The two have known each other for decades, dating back to Judd’s appearances on O'Donnell’s daytime talk show in the 1990es, and have maintained a personal friendship despite differing political views.
