Bourbon entrepreneur Wes Henderson sued over alleged hidden-camera surveillance

A lawsuit filed in Kentucky accuses bourbon maker Wes Henderson of installing hidden cameras that captured private moments, including alleged recordings of minors, but no criminal charges have been filed.

Kentucky bourbon entrepreneur Wes Henderson, founder of Angel’s Envy and owner of the Kentucky Castle, is facing a civil lawsuit alleging invasion of privacy and voyeurism. The suit, filed in Oldham County in June, claims family members discovered approximately 30 hidden cameras in two residences – a vacation home in Florida and a property in Oldham County – that were capable of live-streaming and recorded intimate activities, including footage involving a minor.

According to the sealed filing, the cameras were concealed in objects such as fire alarms, mirrors, fans, clocks, speakers, bathroom vents, and electrical outlets. The plaintiffs say they turned the devices and recorded media over to law enforcement, which continues to retain the evidence.

"The cameras also captured the defendant, Wes Henderson, having sex with other women (not his wife). Upon information and belief, the cameras captured other adults having sex, as well as footage of what appeared to be a homeless individual, potentially a minor, who happened to be carrying a portable medical device, using the restroom," the complaint states.

The complaint also alleges that Henderson placed cameras in third-party homes and that he installed devices while wearing a firefighter’s shirt, referencing his prior service as a firefighter and deputy coroner in Oldham County. Police chiefs in Versailles and Oldham County said their departments were not involved in the investigation.

Henderson has not publicly responded to the allegations, and representatives of Angel’s Envy declined comment. The lawsuit seeks punitive damages for pain and suffering, medical expenses, and a jury trial. Separate civil actions related to Henderson’s distilling and hospitality ventures remain pending, but no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the camera allegations.
