Eagles face Rams with multiple starters listed as inactive for Week 4
Philadelphia's roster for Sunday’s game against the Rams includes several key players marked as non-participants, including wide receiver DeVonta Smith and linebacker Zack Baun.
Philadelphia entered its Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams with five starters absent from practice on Thursday. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith was sidelined with a hamstring issue, linebacker Zack Baun was listed with a concussion, tight end Dallas Goedert and offensive tackle Fred Johnson each dealt with knee injuries, and wide receiver Hollywood Brown was out due to an ankle problem. All five were designated as non-participants on Wednesday’s injury report following a team walkthrough.
Brown observed the early portion of Thursday’s session as a spectator, while the other players did not appear on the field. Additional players listed as limited included defensive tackle Jordan Davis (calf), safety Marcus Epps (groin), defensive tackle Moro Ojomo (calf/elbow) and running back Will Shipley (foot). Full participants were running back Tank Bigsby (abdomen), linebacker Jihaad Campbell (knee), defensive tackle Jalen Carter (wrist), wide receiver Darius Cooper (knee), outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard (pectoral) and defensive tackle Byron Young (toe).
If Smith remains unavailable, the Eagles’ receiving corps for the game will likely consist of Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper, Elijah Moore and Britain Covey. Should Baun be unable to play, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is expected to step in behind Jihaad Campbell. The only player who moved from non-participant to active status between Wednesday and Thursday was running back Will Shipley, who returned after a foot injury.
The team also noted jersey number changes: defensive back Kenny Moore II will wear No. 23, Jakorian Bennett will wear No. 21 and Cole Wisniewski will wear No. 38.
