Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said Apple could launch 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with OLED touchscreens as early as October, with a possible November delay.

Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman told listeners on his Power On podcast that Apple is likely to introduce 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models featuring touch-enabled OLED displays this fall, possibly as early as October and no later than November.

He noted that the devices are being tested with macOS 13.2, currently in beta, and that the software update is expected to roll out toward the end of October, suggesting an announcement could follow soon after.

Gurman also mentioned other rumored specifications, including Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, a slimmer chassis and a Dynamic Island replacing the traditional notch.

Earlier reports indicated Apple has explored cellular-enabled Macs that could use 5G or LTE without an iPhone hotspot, leading some observers to speculate the touchscreen models might incorporate Apple’s custom C1X or C2 modem.

The touchscreen variants are expected to sit above the standard 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro line, which is slated to receive M7 Pro and M7 Max chips next year. It remains unclear whether the new models will retain the MacBook Pro name or adopt a different branding such as MacBook Ultra.
