Phillies win Game 2 on Alec Bohm's 10th-inning homer to force decisive Game 3 against Braves

Summary

Alec Bohm's two-out home run in the 10th inning gave Philadelphia a 4-3 win over Atlanta, tying the NL Wild Card Series and setting up a winner-take-all Game 3.

Philadelphia rallied in the seventh inning when Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper hit back-to-back home runs, erasing a 3-1 deficit against the Atlanta Braves. Harper’s blast followed a fielding misplay earlier in the inning.

The game remained deadlocked at 3-3 until the top of the 10th, when first baseman Alec Bohm delivered a two-out, 357-foot home run off right-hander Didier Fuentes, giving the Phillies a 4-3 lead that held for the win.

"Probably should have been caught, obviously," Harper said after a dropped ball in the seventh that had initially allowed Atlanta to take a 2-1 lead.

Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez worked 6 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits while throwing a career-high 116 pitches. Atlanta reliever Tyler Mahle gave up one run on six hits over seven innings.

The victory forces a decisive Game 3, which MLB will schedule for either an afternoon or evening start in Atlanta, depending on the outcomes of the other Wild Card Series matchups.
