Sean "Diddy" Combs reportedly receives special treatment while incarcerated at Fort Dix

Summary

Inmates and sources claim the rapper enjoys privileges such as personal cooking, massages and contraband, while officials say he is serving his sentence under standard rules.

Inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix have alleged that Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is serving a 50-month sentence for transportation of prostitution, receives services that are not typical for the facility. Four former unit members said Combs pays other inmates to clean his area, prepares meals such as curry chicken, pizza and empanadas, and receives Chinese-style massages. One inmate described the situation as "some rich s-t" not normally seen in jail.

NBC News obtained video showing Combs using a cellphone, which sources said he used to view Instagram and photos sent by an ex-girlfriend. The same sources claimed he has access to antidepressants, premium liquor allegedly smuggled by guards, and that he shared drinks with other inmates.

A spokesperson for Combs said the media has exaggerated ordinary prison life and that the rapper is simply serving his sentence and awaiting a court decision on his appeal. A Bureau of Prisons representative declined to comment on inmate conditions, citing privacy and security, but noted that contraband, including phones and drugs, remains a persistent challenge and that any staff misconduct allegations are investigated according to policy.

Combs was convicted in July on two counts of transportation for prostitution and transferred from a detention center in Brooklyn to Fort Dix to begin his term.
