Video shows Presley Gerber at rehab facility hours before his death
A video captured Presley Gerber filming himself at a Santa Monica rehabilitation center the night before he died of an apparent overdose at age 27.
Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford, was recorded filming himself inside Resolutions Living, a luxury rehabilitation center in Santa Monica, California, on the evening before his death. In the footage, he is seen wearing a white tank top, a silver chain and black glasses, and walks through his living quarters, which include multiple beds, a balcony with city views, and other amenities.
Authorities responded to a call reporting cardiac arrest and an overdose at the facility on September 20, and Gerber was pronounced dead later that day. The facility, valued at $7.7 million, offers a three-phase recovery program that includes goal-setting, volunteer work and character-building activities, along with a gym, movie theater, and chef-prepared meals.
Family representatives declined to comment on the video. A spokesperson for the Gerber family asked for privacy during the “very difficult and painful time.” The cause of death has not been officially released. Gerber had a history of opioid addiction and depression and had previously faced a DUI charge in 2018.
"We are asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time," a family representative said.
Gerber was reportedly cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home, and his ashes are to remain at his parents' Malibu residence.
