Apple opens early 'Get Ready' window for iPhone Duo pre-orders starting Oct. 12
Apple will allow customers to begin the iPhone Duo pre-order process on October 12, ahead of the official launch on October 16.
Apple announced that customers can start the "Get ready" phase for iPhone Duo pre-orders on Monday, October 12. The early-selection window, which is expected to run through much of Thursday, October 15, will be available through the Apple Store app and the online store. During this period shoppers can choose the device’s color, storage capacity, carrier, payment method and other options. Apple says completing these selections in advance will enable a faster checkout when the official pre-orders open on Friday, October 16 at 8:00 a.m. ET / 5:00 a.m. PT.
"By completing this process ahead of time, Apple says you can get through checkout faster when iPhone Duo pre-orders go live on Friday, October 16 at 8:00 a.m. ET / 5:00 a.m. PT," the company explained.
The early-ready option is intended to reduce potential delays on the launch day and improve the chances of receiving the device promptly.
