Holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy trial addresses mistrial in video statement

Michael Desronvil, the lone juror who voted to acquit former Massachusetts nurse Lindsay Clancy before a mistrial was declared, issued a video statement aired on a national news program on Monday. In the recording, Desronvil said he wants public attention to shift toward three children he described as "the ones that can't speak for themselves, can't defend themselves, and can't fight the battles" – Cora, Dawson and Callan.

He also expressed gratitude for his Catholic faith, his daughter, and supporters who have helped him during the legal proceedings.

Desronvil’s attorney, Edward Paltzik, told a news outlet that his client has "zero doubt" about his position and rejected local reports of prior domestic-violence allegations, calling them "fabricated".

Clancy’s defense lawyer, Kevin Reddington, has labeled Desronvil an "obstructionist juror" and requested a court investigation into claims that he refused to follow the law during deliberations. A status conference on the case is scheduled for Tuesday.
