Wladimir Klitschko seeks temporary guardianship of daughter Kaya after Hayden Panettiere's death
Former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has filed for a temporary guardianship of his 11-year-old daughter Kaya following the accidental overdose death of actress Hayden Panettiere, who died in August.
Former heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko has petitioned a court for temporary guardianship of his 11-year-old daughter Kaya, who he shares with late actress Hayden Panettiere. The filing comes after Panettiere was found unresponsive at a Greenville, South Carolina residence on Aug. 16 and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office later ruled the death an accident caused by toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine.
Police reports indicate that an acquaintance placed the 911 call, and that Panettiere’s on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach Hickerson attempted CPR and administered Narcan before emergency responders arrived. Investigators have found no signs of foul play.
Klitschko, who expressed “profound shock and grief” over the loss, said he intends to preserve Panettiere’s legacy for their daughter. The court’s decision on the guardianship request is pending.
