Teresa Giudice appeals for privacy as daughter Milania copes with recent losses and mental health challenges
Teresa Giudice asked for privacy for her 20-year-old daughter Milania, who is dealing with the deaths of close relatives and a recent mental health crisis, while both parents emphasized the need for compassion and professional support.
Teresa Giudice posted on Instagram Stories on Monday, stating that her family has endured a difficult period and that she wants to protect her daughter Milania during a vulnerable time. She said Milania is grieving the loss of a close friend, Victoria Zardoya, who died in July, and the recent death of her great-grandmother two months later. Giudice added that her focus is to ensure Milania is surrounded by love, family, and professional care, and asked the public for compassion and privacy.
Joe Giudice, Milania’s father, told Page Six that his daughter is young and facing a painful grieving process while also dealing with the pressures of public attention. He said recent headlines do not define her character and described her as caring and kind.
Milania’s representative confirmed she is receiving professional support and expressed hope that sharing her experience might help other young people facing similar struggles.
The 20-year-old, a University of Tampa student, has had a turbulent year that included a domestic-violence arrest in May, enrollment in anger-management classes, and a September incident at Tampa International Airport where she was briefly missing before boarding a flight with her family. An incident report noted she had been released from a hospital, exhibited a mental-health breakdown and suicidal thoughts, and was later found about 45 minutes later. Her next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29.
