Stars showcase fashion on red carpet ahead of 2026 MTV Video Music Awards
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards opened with a star-filled red carpet in Los Angeles, featuring performances by Madonna and appearances by Taylor Swift and other artists.
The MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in Los Angeles displayed a range of fashion choices as celebrities arrived for the ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 27. Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the event is being held at the Peacock Theater and includes a performance by Madonna, who returns to the show after 23 years and leads the night with 11 nominations.
Taylor Swift, who released four new songs earlier in the week, arrived as a nominee for nine awards and to receive the inaugural VMA artist director honor. Other performers and attendees included Charli XCX, Adam Lambert, Paris Hilton, Emma Bunton, Raye, Bebe Rexha, Normani, and a roster of emerging artists such as Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli.
"Madonna will open the celebration and has the most nominations of the night with 11," a spokesperson for the event said.
The lineup of musicians and entertainers also featured appearances by Sombr, Lisa, and a variety of acts scheduled to perform later in the show.
