The 2026 Video Music Awards red carpet showcased a spectrum of fashion choices as artists arrived for the ceremony. Slayyyter, typically seen in casual attire, appeared in a glitzy boho-chic gown and is nominated for Best Dance and Song of the Summer. Bella Poarch attended in a deconstructed lace and ribbon ensemble while promoting her debut album, Picnic At The Cemetery.
Chloe Bailey presented a modern Art Deco-inspired look with a midriff-bearing dress, and country-pop singer Stella Lefty opted for a silver and white silk dress with a detailed back, reminiscent of early-2000s pop aesthetics. JoJo combined a black studded bra with a crystal-adorned skirt and sky-high platforms, fresh from New York Fashion Week.
Other notable appearances included Orville Peck in a black cowboy hat and fringed leather jacket, Raye in a crystallized scoop-neck gown, and K-pop star Lalisa (Lisa) in a red coat and bodycon dress. Teyana Taylor wore an all-black latticed robe with extensive feather detailing, while Charli XCX embraced a black velvet, Elvira-inspired outfit.
Hip-hop and country crossovers were highlighted by Shaboozey’s black leather suit and silver belt buckle, and Gunna’s beige suit with iced-out jewelry. Performers such as Raye, Sombr, and Teddy Swims will join a George Michael tribute later in the show. Taylor Swift, receiving the inaugural Artist Director honor, arrived in a shimmering white skirt over a black mesh bodysuit.
The ceremony also honored Nirvana with the Video Vanguard award, presented by Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, who kept their attire simple. Overall, the event reflected a blend of classic Hollywood glamour, avant-garde statements, and genre-specific styling.
