San Francisco wide receiver Mike Evans was forced to leave the Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals early in the second quarter after sustaining a rib injury. The 33-year-old exited at the 1:45 mark of the period following an incomplete pass across the middle and was escorted to the locker room by team staff.

Evans had recorded three receptions for 34 yards, including a touchdown, before the injury. The team announced on its X account that he would not return to the game due to the rib injury, noting that the incident occurred without contact on the play.

The loss adds to a growing list of injuries among the 49ers' receiving corps, which already includes De'Zhaun Stribling, Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson. Remaining options on the depth chart are Deebo Samuel Sr., Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing and KhaDarel Hodge, while veteran Brandin Cooks was recently added to the practice squad to provide additional depth.
