NFL game between Ravens and Cowboys set for Rio's Maracanã Stadium despite field concerns
The Baltimore Ravens will face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Rio de Janeiro's Maracanã Stadium, with league officials saying the playing surface is acceptable despite visible synthetic patches.
The Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to play Sunday at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, marking the NFL's third consecutive season holding a game in Brazil. A close-up photo of the field, shared by local sports station 105.3 The Fan, shows synthetic turf woven into the natural grass, with limited real grass visible.
League representatives have said there is "no need to worry" about the condition of the playing surface. The game is set to begin at 4:25 p.m. ET and will be broadcast to a global audience, part of the NFL's ongoing effort to expand its international fan base.
