Owner of rehab where Presley Gerber died has prior drug-related arrests
Presley Gerber, 27, was found dead of a suspected overdose at the Resolutions Living facility in Santa Monica. State records show the founder, Dr. Reza Nabavi, previously faced multiple drug-possession charges and licensing issues.
Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, was discovered dead from a suspected overdose at the Resolutions Living sober-living home in Santa Monica on Sept. 20. The Santa Monica Police Department said there was no sign of foul play, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office deferred the autopsy pending further testing.
Resolutions Living is part of Resolutions Therapeutic Services, founded by Dr. Reza Nabavi. Although the company’s website describes Nabavi as having "over 20 years of clinical experience," state documents reveal that he struggled to obtain a psychology license because of several drug-related arrests. In early 2002, Nabavi was arrested in Oakland for possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, a firearm and ammunition, and later that year was arrested again after allegedly agreeing to sell methamphetamine to an informant. He pleaded no contest to the charges and received probation.
The California Board of Psychology denied his license applications in 2004 and 2005, and his registration as a psychological assistant was revoked in early 2006. He was placed on a five-year probationary term that required psychological evaluation, weekly monitoring, treatment program participation and random drug testing. The board terminated his probation early in 2008, and his license is listed as active through June 2028.
Nabavi launched Resolutions Therapeutic Services in 2013 after serving as director of family services at Promises Malibu, a former celebrity rehab center. The facility’s website markets Resolutions Living as a leader in addiction and mental-health support, offering individualized recovery plans, though details of Gerber’s specific program have not been disclosed.
