Missouri and Texas Residents Share $1.787 Billion Powerball Jackpot
Two winning tickets from Missouri and Texas will split the $1.787 billion Powerball jackpot, the second-largest in U.S. lottery history.
Two Powerball tickets sold in Missouri and Texas have matched all six numbers to claim the $1.787 billion jackpot, marking the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history. The winning numbers drawn on Saturday were 11, 23, 44, 61, 62, and the red Powerball number 17. The Texas Lottery confirmed that the winning ticket in Texas was purchased at a gas station-convenience store in Fredericksburg.
This jackpot win ends a streak of 41 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner, the longest in Powerball history. The previous jackpot was claimed on May 31.
Each winner has the option to choose between an annuitized prize of $893.5 million, paid over 30 years with annual increases of 5%, or a lump sum payment of $410.3 million, both before taxes.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
