Chadwick Boseman's widow opposes brothers' petition to remove her as estate administrator
Taylor Simone Ledward filed a response in court rejecting her late husband's brothers' request to replace her as administrator of his estate, citing her management of disbursements and alleging the lawsuit is a public-relations effort.
Taylor Simone Ledward, the widow of the late actor Chadwick Boseman, submitted a legal response on Tuesday opposing a petition filed by his brothers, Derrick and Kevin Boseman, to have her removed as administrator of his estate. The brothers have asked the court to appoint attorney Jason Rubin in her place.
Ledward argued that she has acted appropriately as administrator, detailing numerous disbursements made to Boseman's parents, Carolyn and Leroy, since his death. She also said she provided approximately $300,000 of her own funds to Derrick's children, describing the payments as fulfilling Chadwick's wishes to support his family.
"I have done everything asked of me as the administrator and should not be removed," Ledward said, adding that she does not support Rubin's appointment because of alleged serious allegations against him, which she has not verified but believes merit consideration.
The dispute will proceed in court, where Ledward indicated she is prepared to defend her position.
