Roseanne Barr launches profanity-filled tirade against former co-star Michael Fishman on podcast

Résumé

Comedian Roseanne Barr used vulgar language to criticize Michael Fishman after he publicly addressed her 2018 racist comments, while Fishman defended ABC’s decision to cancel her show.

Roseanne Barr responded with a profanity-laden rant to Michael Fishman during an upcoming episode of the "Can't Be Censored" podcast. Barr, who starred with Fishman on the original "Roseanne" sitcom, accused him of not understanding her past statements and called him a "brainwashed bigot," according to the podcast preview. She told Fishman, "Let me explain this to you, Michael. Go and ... shut up," and added that he lacked geopolitical context to discuss her remarks.

Barr also claimed she was responsible for Fishman's return to the 2018 "Roseanne" reboot, saying producers wanted to remove him and she intervened. The podcast excerpt contains repeated vulgar insults directed at Fishman.

Fishman, who later appeared on the ABC series "The Conners," previously defended ABC's decision to cancel Barr's reboot, stating that "good people make mistakes" and expressing continued compassion for Barr while condemning her 2018 tweetstorm that targeted public figures with racist content.

Barr's 2018 tweets, which referenced Chelsea Clinton, George Soros and former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, led to a public apology and her departure from Twitter. ABC cancelled the "Roseanne" reboot shortly thereafter. Page Six sought comment from Fishman's representatives but did not receive a response.
