Meta's Muse AI sees rapid adoption as investors await further details at Connect event

Meta's newly launched Muse AI agent has quickly become the top download on Apple's App Store, reaching 2.8 million installations in its first 12 days across the United States and Canada, according to Sensor Tower data. The figure exceeds the 1.3 million downloads recorded by ChatGPT in the same period, and Muse set a U.S. daily download record of 264,000 on Sept. 19.

Despite the strong uptake, some potential users remain hesitant. Gary Cohn, IBM vice chair and former White House economic adviser, told Yahoo Finance's Sozzi Unleashed that he is uncomfortable sharing his personal data with the service, saying, "I'm not comfortable giving up my personal data and my personal information. I have enough trouble managing my own data and don't like giving it to someone else."

Meta's stock has risen roughly 20% over the past two weeks as the buzz around Muse has grown. Investors are now looking to CEO Mark Zuckerberg's annual Meta Connect event for further insight into how the AI agent will be integrated into Meta's product lineup, including its upcoming smart-glasses, and for additional usage metrics.

Tech analyst Gene Munster noted on X that the most significant update from the keynote is expected to be data on Muse's early adoption, rather than wearable hardware. He cited comments from Meta's chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, who said the service is performing "well ahead of internal projections" and described it as the largest consumer AI launch since ChatGPT, with U.S. download volume surpassing that of Threads, WhatsApp and Facebook combined.
