Commanders QB Jayden Daniels out for at least one game, timeline for return unclear
Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels will miss the upcoming game against Seattle as he sees a specialist for a dislocated elbow, with no recovery timetable provided.
Washington head coach Dan Quinn said the team does not have an update on quarterback Jayden Daniels, who suffered a dislocated left elbow on the final play of the second quarter in Sunday’s loss to Dallas. Daniels is scheduled to see another specialist on Wednesday and will miss the team’s game against Seattle. Marcus Mariota is expected to start in Daniels’ place.
Quinn declined to speculate on a return timeline, stating, "I’m not going to assume on the timeline. Once I know, I’ll share it with you to go. But I think just for me to say, this many weeks or not, I’d rather wait on that and let’s get all the info." He added that the team will wait before considering any additional quarterback options.
The coach also confirmed safety Nick Cross will be unavailable for Week 3 after sustaining an internal injury against the Cowboys.
