Three couples tie for lead as Giada De Laurentiis eliminated on DWTS week 2
In week two of season 35, three couples tied for the highest judges' score while celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis and partner Alan Bersten were voted off.
The second episode of season 35 of "Dancing with the Stars" featured a "viral hits" theme, with contestants performing to songs that had trended on TikTok and Instagram. Fourteen couples took the floor, and the judges were required to give a one-word summary after each performance.
Three pairs—Amber Glenn with Pasha Pashkov, Ezra French with Daniella Karagach, and Jenna Dewan with Val Chmerkovskiy—each earned 21 out of a possible 30 points, creating a three-way tie for first place. Scores of 18 and 12 points placed other couples in the middle and bottom of the leaderboard respectively.
Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis and professional partner Alan Bersten received the lowest combined score of 12 points and were eliminated after audience voting. "I tried my best, and it wasn't 'best' enough, but I did try my best," De Laurentiis told host Julianne Hough.
The show will continue next week with a "Yacht Rock Night" featuring the remaining 13 couples.
