DWTS Viral Hits Night sees three couples tie for top score and two eliminations

Résumé

On Viral Hits Night of Dancing With the Stars season 35, three couples earned the highest judges' score of 21/30, while Conner Leavitt and Sarah Jane Nader were eliminated.

Dancing With the Stars’ third episode of season 35 featured a “Viral Hits Night” in which the remaining couples performed routines set to recent internet-sensation songs. The male celebrities performed on Tuesday, after which Conner Leavitt was eliminated, and the female celebrities performed on Wednesday, resulting in the second elimination of Sarah Jane Nader.

Jenna Dewan and partner Val Chmerkovskiy opened the night with a jive to Katseye’s “Animal,” earning a 21-point score that placed them at the top of the leaderboard. They were joined by Ezra French and Daniella Karagach, who received the same score for a cha-cha to Flo Rida’s “Low,” and Amber Glenn with Pasha Pashkov, who tied the lead with a tango to “All the Things She Said.”

Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong scored 18 points for a tango to “No Broke Boys,” while Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas posted a 19-point total. The lowest scores were recorded by Giada De Laurentiis and Alan Bersten and Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson, each receiving 12 points.

“Viral Hits Night has already received more fan votes than both premieres,” host Alfonso Ribeiro said during the broadcast.

The combined judges’ scores and live viewer votes determine which couple is eliminated at the end of each episode. Voting for the night’s performances was open during the East Coast airing and closed shortly after the final performance.
