Colorado coach Deion Sanders says several players were dismissed after 41-7 loss to Northwestern
Following a 41-7 defeat, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders announced that a few players are no longer on the team, citing inappropriate reactions to the loss.
Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders said on Tuesday that a small number of players have been removed from the roster after the team’s 41-7 loss to Northwestern on Saturday. Sanders did not identify the individuals, but said the decision was made because some players appeared to laugh after the defeat.
"I don’t understand how you can have joy in a loss, especially when I’m upset," Sanders told reporters. "I want to win every darn thing, and I can’t understand how in the world you find joy or treat it as a laughing matter when I’m right behind you walking in." Sanders added that he addressed the behavior directly and emphasized that the team’s focus must remain on winning.
