NFL Week 3 preview highlights matchups and picks from CBS Sports analyst

Resumen

Analyst John Breech offers his Week 3 NFL game predictions, noting early struggles for several teams and outlining his selections for each contest.

Analyst John Breech previewed the NFL’s Week 3 slate, noting that the Miami Dolphins have yet to hold a lead in either of their first two games and expressing doubt about their playoff prospects. He also highlighted the Atlanta Falcons’ lack of red-zone attempts and the Los Angeles Chargers’ poor performance, suggesting they could be vulnerable.

Breech’s first pick is the Houston Texans to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 27-24. He cited the Texans’ strong passing from C.J. Stroud, who has thrown for 627 yards in two games, and the Colts’ recent injury to receiver Alec Pierce.

For the Vikings versus Buccaneers game, Breech favored the Buccaneers 19-16, pointing to Tampa Bay’s need to avoid an 0-3 start and the Vikings’ reliance on a defense that has performed well.

In the inaugural NFL game in Rio de Janeiro, he projected the Baltimore Ravens to beat the Dallas Cowboys 34-27, emphasizing the Ravens’ rushing attack led by Derrick Henry and the Cowboys’ defensive challenges against the run.

Against the New Orleans Saints, Breech predicted a 27-24 victory for the Saints over the Las Vegas Raiders, noting the Saints’ late-game passing production and the Raiders’ strong pass-rush.

He selected the Denver Broncos to edge the Los Angeles Rams 23-21, citing the Broncos’ defensive potential and the Rams’ extensive travel schedule.

Breech also listed his picks for the remaining games, including Packers over Falcons, Bills over Chargers, and Chiefs over Dolphins, among others. He reported a 11-5 record for straight-up picks in Week 2 and a 20-12 overall survivor pool record.

"The Dolphins have not held a lead in either of their first two games, which makes it difficult for them to win moving forward," Breech said.

"The Falcons are the first team in 18 years to go two weeks without a red-zone play," he added.

"The Chargers have set football back 100 years," Breeach remarked.

"The Vikings have become the first team in NFL history to win four straight games with four different starting quarterbacks," he noted.

"The Broncos are dealing with a defense that gave up the second-fewest rushing yards last season, but are now allowing the fourth-most," Breech observed.

"The Rams have traveled more miles than 13 teams will travel all season, which could affect their performance," he warned.
