Police Investigate Drug Source After Presley Gerber Dies at Rehab Facility

Santa Monica police responded to a cardiac arrest and overdose call at Resolutions Living, a seven-bed mansion-style outpatient rehab center, at about 9:35 a.m. on Sunday. Paramedics pronounced Presley Gerber dead at 9:45 a.m., shortly after he had checked in the previous night around 10 p.m.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office said the investigation is in its early stages and that an autopsy has been performed, but the cause and manner of death have been deferred pending additional testing. Officials indicated that a determination could take several months.

"At this time, there is no indication of foul play, but we are investigating the apparent overdose and attempting to trace the source of the drugs," a police source said.

Police are working to identify where the substances originated and who may have supplied them. Resolutions Living describes its program as a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient service for mental health issues, including depression, trauma and addiction, offering dual-diagnosis treatment.

Gerber had spoken publicly about his mental-health challenges and his history of seeking treatment since his teens. In a 2023 podcast interview, he said he hoped his experiences would help others facing similar struggles.
