Apple launches settlement portal for Siri AI class-action payout
Apple has created an online portal for eligible U.S. iPhone owners to claim a portion of a $250 million settlement over delayed Siri AI features, with claims accepted from September 21 to December 21.
Apple announced that a settlement website is now live for U.S. iPhone owners who purchased certain models between June 10 2024 and March 29 2025. The company agreed in May to a $250 million settlement of a class-action lawsuit alleging it misled consumers about the launch of a personalized Siri AI feature. Eligible claimants can submit a request on the site between September 21 and December 21, 2026. The base payment is $25 per device, but the amount could rise to as much as $95 depending on the total number of valid claims. Payments are not expected until after a final approval hearing scheduled for February 24 2027.
Apple denied all allegations but settled to avoid trial costs and risks. The lawsuit stemmed from a March 2025 delay in releasing the advertised Siri capabilities, which had been showcased in product demos, on the company’s website and in a television commercial. The new Siri AI, announced at WWDC 2026, is available on iPhone 15 Pro models and newer running iOS 27, though it remains labeled a beta feature.
To qualify, claimants must reside in the United States and own one of the listed iPhone models (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max). Claim forms require personal details and the device’s serial number, or alternatively the Apple account email and phone number if the serial number is unavailable. The settlement site also provides information on opting out and other FAQs.
