San Francisco beat the Miami Dolphins 35-13 on Sunday at Levi's Stadium, improving to 2-0 on the season. Quarterback Brock Purdy completed 20 of 22 passes for 287 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, posting a 149.1 passer rating. He threw 18 consecutive completions, a streak that would have been the longest by a 49ers quarterback since Steve Young in 1996 if not for an intentional grounding penalty in the fourth quarter.

Purdy said he did not realize the streak until the final quarter, noting that each drive mattered. Coach Kyle Shanahan praised Purdy’s decision-making, saying the quarterback was “sharp” and “great today.” Linebacker Fred Warner later called Purdy an MVP candidate, emphasizing his role as the offense’s “point guard.”

The 49ers scored on five of their first five possessions, building a 14-6 halftime lead. George Kittle opened the second half with a 40-yard catch-and-run and a 12-yard touchdown. A subsequent 71-yard drive featured completions to Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans and Kyle Juszczyk, culminating in a touchdown that made it 28-6. A quick-strike drive later added a touchdown pass to Evans and a 1-yard run by Christian McCaffrey, his 100th career regular-season touchdown.

McCaffrey finished with 23 rushing yards on 10 carries and caught four passes for 43 yards. Kittle led the team with 80 receiving yards, while Evans contributed 54 yards before leaving with a hip issue. The Dolphins’ only score came late in the game, a 77-yard touchdown reception by Ryan Miller on a pass from Malik Willis.

San Francisco’s defense recorded four sacks on Willis, including a shared sack by Nick Bosa and safety Marques Sigle. Injuries were limited to a few 49ers reserves, including Demarcus Robinson, who suffered a high-ankle sprain, and several defensive players with minor injuries. The 49ers next host the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos before traveling to Seattle on Oct. 11.
