Model Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford, dies at 27

Summary

Presley Gerber, a 27-year-old model and the son of Cindy Crawford, died while at a rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, died on Sunday while staying at a rehabilitation center, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed. A family spokesperson told CNN that the family is requesting privacy during this difficult period.

Born in California in 1999, Gerber was one of two children of Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. He began modeling as a teenager, debuting on the runway for Moschino at age 16 and later walking for brands such as Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. His campaign work included Calvin Klein, Celine, Pepsi and Omega, and he appeared in publications like GQ Style and The New York Times Style Magazine. In 2019, he signed with DNA Model Management, which also represents his sister Kaïa Gerber.

Gerber had spoken publicly about his mental-health challenges and substance use. In a 2023 podcast interview, he described mental health as “a big part of my life” and launched a “Mental Health Mondays” initiative, collaborating with charities such as A Sense of Home. In December, he posted a video on Instagram mentioning prescription antidepressants and Xanax for panic attacks, noting recent personal losses as a factor in his condition.

His sister Kaïa recently discussed his struggle with addiction in an American Vogue cover story, saying it “levels everyone” in a family and describing him as a “teacher” who encouraged openness about vulnerability. Crawford previously posted supportive messages on social media following his disclosures.

DNA Model Management did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
