Bears quarterback Caleb Williams leaves game with hamstring injury

Summary

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings after sustaining a right hamstring injury.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams left the game in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 9-3 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings after his right hamstring gave way while running toward the end zone. He attempted to rise twice but required assistance from trainers and was taken to the injury tent before being placed on a cart and escorted to the locker room. Williams briefly uncovered his face, gave a thumbs-up to the crowd, and then departed for further evaluation. The team said he will undergo imaging on Monday.

Tyson Bagent entered as Williams’ replacement. The Bears were unable to score a touchdown despite two red-zone attempts inside the Vikings’ six-yard line, and a 23-yard field-goal try by Cairo Santos was blocked. The entire contest was played in steady rain.
