Nebraska prepares to host North Dakota in nonconference matchup Saturday
Nebraska (2-0) will face FCS opponent North Dakota at Memorial Stadium on Sept. 19, with the Huskers favored by 24.5 points. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
Nebraska enters its third game of the 2024 season with a 2-0 record and will look to extend its non-conference winning streak against North Dakota on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The Huskers, who defeated Ohio and Bowling Green in the first two weeks, are 24.5-point favorites according to the latest betting line.
North Dakota arrives at 3-0 under second-year head coach Eric Schmidt, who guided the Fighting Hawks to an FCS playoff second-round appearance in 2025. Quarterback Jerry Kaminski, a senior who threw for more than 2,500 yards and 26 touchdowns last season, leads the team’s offense. The Hawks also feature running back Charles Langama and senior wide receiver Korey Tai, both among the conference’s statistical leaders.
Nebraska’s offense has been led by quarterback Anthony Colandrea, who threw four touchdown passes and amassed 222 yards in the win over Bowling Green. Wide receiver Jacory Barney Jr. contributed 115 receiving yards and two scores, while transfer Kwazi Gilmer added two touchdown receptions. Freshman running back Jamal Rule continued his strong start with 88 rushing yards and a touchdown.
The game will begin at 6:15 p.m. CDT and be shown on the Big Ten Network, with commentary from Jason Ross Jr., analyst Anthony Herron and sideline reporter Bridget Howard. Radio coverage will be provided by the Huskers Radio Network and its affiliates.
Both teams have experienced recent coaching changes; North Dakota’s former head coach Kyle Schweigert moved to an administrative role after the 2024 season, and Schmidt, a former player on the 2001 national championship team, took over. Nebraska aims to complete its non-conference schedule with another victory before beginning Big Ten play.
