Prince Harry makes first official appearance in UK as royal family holds separate engagements
Prince Harry attended the Invictus Spirit Awards in London, marking his first official engagement since returning to the United Kingdom, while King Charles III and Prince William carried out their own duties elsewhere in Scotland.
Prince Harry appeared at the Royal Naval College in London on Thursday for the Invictus Spirit Awards, his first official engagement since relocating back to the United Kingdom with his wife Meghan and their children. Dressed in a tuxedo with military medals, he greeted photographers and posed with members of the Irish Guards. > "It’s good to be back on British soil," he told reporters at the event, which celebrates the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style competition for wounded veterans that he founded.
Earlier that day, King Charles III delivered a speech on artificial intelligence at a conference in Scotland, and Prince William, accompanied by Princess Kate, visited the Isle of Bute in the same region. Neither the king nor the prince has publicly commented on Harry and Meghan’s return.
The royal family previously issued a letter stating that Harry and Meghan would remain private citizens and would not perform royal duties while residing in the UK. The couple has not provided further comment. Harry is slated to speak at the WellChild Awards in London next week and to attend the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in New York later in September.
