Samsung sets September 28 start for One UI 9 on Galaxy S25 and 2025 foldables
Samsung announced that the Galaxy S25 series and the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will begin receiving the One UI 9 update on September 28, with the Galaxy S23 FE slated for October.
Samsung said the Galaxy S25 series, along with the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 foldable phones, will start receiving the Android 17-based One UI 9 update on September 28, according to an official rollout announcement from Samsung Thailand. The same notice indicated that the Galaxy S23 FE will receive the update sometime in October.
The dates apply to the Thai market and are not a confirmed global schedule, but they provide the most specific timeline yet for devices beyond the Galaxy S26 series, which began rolling out the update on September 16 in the United States and September 21 in Canada.
Analysts note that the September 28 rollout suggests the S25 and last year’s foldables could see the update in other regions around the same time, though exact dates may differ by country and carrier. The October window for the S23 FE implies that the S24 and S23 flagship lines may also be updated then, but Samsung has not officially confirmed those dates.
